Nintendo's Conference: 2 Resident Evils in 3D

At Nintendo's Fall Conference in Japan, Capcom unveiled that it was not producing a new Resident Evil for the 3DS; it was producing two.

Resident Evil: Revelations was the originally announced Resident Evil game for the 3DS. The game takes place in what appears to be a cruise ship or other massive vessel, and all gameplay footage shown thus far puts Jill Valentine as the main protagonist. The focus for this game seems to be on horror this time around; enemies will now actively hunt down the player as opposed to the other way. Sounds like a more hell-raising Resident Evil to me!

Meanwhile, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is the newly announced title from the press conference. The game is a compilation of the unlockable Mercenaries missions from Resident Evil 4 and 5, but the press release stipulates that the game will have additional characters, modes, and potentially more missions than what is being brought from the other games. Furthermore, Mercenaries 3D will allow for cooperative play over the Internet, for added game replayability.

Whether the games will be available immediately at launch is currently unknown, but both are definitely looking good from Capcom!
