Ghostbusters Getting Slimy

Atari and Sony have announced that they are collaborating on yet another Ghostbusters game, entitled Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime.

The game stars the protagonist of the previous Ghostbusters game, a rookie hired by the original crew in the 2009 Ghostbusters title. Unlike the previous game, which was a third-person shooter akin to Resident Evil 4 but with silly ghosts and lots of Ghostbusters lore, Sanctum of Slime is an overhead adventure title in which up to four players can play cooperatively, either online or offline, in order to hunt down large ghostly beings.

None of the original Ghostbusters cast have signed onto the project, so it sounds as though the adventure will not involve the original guard. Still, players will be allowed to see all the original Ghostbusters technology, including the Ecto-4WD vehicle.

Sanctum of Slime will be releasing for XBLA, PSN, and PC downloadable services in Spring 2011.

The game's developer, Wanako Studios, is a Chilean subsidiary of what is now Behavior Interactive. Established in 2002, the company is best known for its ventures in the digital download segment of the video game industry. The company's latest games include Arkadian Warriors from 2007 and both titles in the Assault Heroes franchise.

A2M Changes Name, Mentions Games

Canadian Developer Artificial Mind and Movement, otherwise known as A2M, has announced publicly that it is changing its name to Behavior Interactive, the original name the company carried when it was founded.

The company will be shifting its focus from its developer-for-hire stance to a combination of hired projects and new company-owned IPs. Behavior has five specific teams, one for each variable of the company focus: gamer, portable, online, downloadable and family (as stated in its press release).
We are and will always strive to be the best and most trusted independent game development studio in the industry. The change in name is not only a return to our previous name but also an indicator of the evolution of the company. We have developed a strong reputation as a high-quality work-for-hire studio as well as a creator of our own original content and will continue to pursue both sides of the business. The new name reflects the renaissance of the company.
- Rémi Racine, CEO, Behaviour Interactive
Along with the announcement of its name and focus shifts, Behavior let loose details on its forthcoming projects. The company is working on sequels to two new IPs it created over the last two years: Wet and Naughty Bear. Wet was a third-person shooter and slasher with a touch of aerobics for good measure. On certain occasions, the protagonist could go into Rage Mode, a Kill Bill-esque bullet-time during which she can rack up a myriad of kills amid her fury. Naughty Bear was a third-person adventure title in which players control a stuffed bear who, uninvited to a birthday party and made fun of constantly, finally snaps and is hellbent on killing and scaring all others on the island.

Furthermore, Behavior will be making games based on the upcoming movie Rango, a tale starring a chameleon who pretends to be a sharp-shooting cowboy in order to stay alive, only to end up as the sheriff at one of the land's worst towns in the wild west.

The release dates for the aforementioned projects are currently unknown, and Behavior is said to be working on multiple projects beyond them, as well, including a Facebook game to debut next year. The company's most recent project has been Sims 3's Wii rendition.
