Game On: Let's Play 3.11 - Rez

Game: Rez
System: Playstation 2
Developer: United Game Artists
Publisher: Sega
Player: Alex

After the treacherous adventure through Super Monkey Ball: Step and Roll, a game had to cleanse the feeling that pervaded throughout the apartment.  While there were a few games to choose, Alex chose to go to one of his favorite and short experiences available to gaming (and to them, as well), Rez.

E3 2012: The BINGO Cards (After)

Well, these should have gotten online sooner.  We also need to get a final thought out on E3 sometime soon.  Until then, here are the BINGO cards after E3.

Red: Press Conference
Black: Any E3-related showing
Blue: Nintendo Direct
Green: 3DS Software Showcase (excluding any Press Conference specific expectations)

Well, we were right on a number of things all around, but at the same time, we failed to get BINGO on two of the three cards.  I guess we were just too hopeful for a couple of things to happen.  Welp, there's always next year!

E3 2012: The Impressions Part 2

At the end of E3 (which, by the way, was fairly lacking of megatons), the two of us sat down and decided to provide our thoughts around all six of the show's main conferences.  On this post, we cover the last three: Ubisoft, Sony, and Nintendo's conferences.  What did we think about these events?

A solid lineup of games coming soon and into the future

A review of the current good lineup focusing more on Wonderbook than PSVita

A look into the Wii U's launch window, 3DS in 2012, and no megatons

Now that we have covered our impressions, we will have one final video summarizing our views of E3 as well as a post here for our completed BINGO cards.

E3 2012: The Impressions Part 1

At the end of E3 (which, by the way, was fairly lacking of megatons), the two of us sat down and decided to provide our thoughts around all six of the show's main conferences.  On this post, we cover the first three: a combination of Konami and GameTrailersTV's Pre-E3 events, Microsoft's Press Conference, and EA's Press Conference.  What did we think about these events?

Few surprises and many of the same games from 2011

Good games interrupted by constant media content and SmartGlass

A standard conference with a large focus on sports communities

Check back in a day or so for the remaining three videos!

E3 2012: The BINGO Cards

Alright, everyone!  Here is our three BINGO cards representing the big three for this year's E3.  Now, we will be marking off these cards as presentations go through, and as such, we will shout BINGO via twitter when we get it.  Now, as said in the last post, Microsoft will unfortunately be having their conference while we will not be available to watch it, but we will state via tweet when we start watching the conference (no live-tweeting though) and shout BINGO if we get it.

For Nintendo, we know they have several events happening (today included).  As such, we will use different markings for the three events.  Nintendo Direct will be marked in blue, the Conference will be marked in red, and the Software Showcase (or any surprise unveiling) will be marked in green.  For the other two, red markings will be used during the conferences.  We will post our final cards after our impression videos.

Most of what we used in the cards were what we predicted in the videos, with a few twisted additions here and there.  Meanwhile, we will be producing a GameTrailersTV and Konami Pre-E3 Event video for impressions as well, but it will follow the above conferences.

Anyways, feel free to make your own or download ours and play along!  Let's get this party started!  And don't forget to follow our twitter account for livetweets about significant events at the show (sans Microsoft and EA due to other business).  Follow the link to your right to check it out!

E3 2012: All Predictions and our Plans!

It is that time of year, and in less than a few days (actually, as of this posting, Konami's Pre-E3 Event is pretty much a couple hours away), the Electronic Entertainment Expo for 2012 will be upon us.  While we here at Third Rate Minion are small stuff compared to the bigger media guys out there and will not be present there, we are still up to the challenge providing our input on the event, starting from predictions and going through impressions as well.

We begin with these four videos, predictions for each of the big three and one consolidated glance at the third party offerings this year.  The predictions are comprised of expected showings, educated guesses, and a few crazy pipe dreams, just what everyone wants from predictions, right?  We do spend a bit more time this year discussing the games in earnest, in case there are some games we mention that you do not know much about.

We should also mention that we filmed these last weekend, so there have been some recent announcements which no doubt already hurt our predictions a bit.  Still, there are still PLENTY more places where we can be wrong, too!

Part 1: Microsoft

Part 2: Sony

Part 3: Nintendo

Part 4: Third Parties

As for our future coverage, we will be live-tweeting whatever press conferences we can watch.  Monday is rife with issues on our side, so do not expect any tweeting during Microsoft and EA's conferences.  However, we should be good for both Ubisoft and Sony's later that evening.  Nintendo will also be live-tweeted, provided I have no issues with the Internet at that time.

After all events have been completed, we will wait until late Wednesday to film our impressions, after which we will post them for you all to see by the end of the week.  We will also produce a bonus evaluation video in which we go through each prediction, one by one, for full evaluation.  We are also producing BINGO cards for the big three conferences (Microsoft's conference will be watched after Sony's, and us calling BINGO will be made then if we hit it.)  The cards should be posted on the site this weekend, so you can all play along!

While being at E3 would be much greater, staying here and watching the madness from affair can also be a good thing, too!  Here's to a crazy awesome E3!
