Since this past Thursday, Professor Layton developer Level-5 has announced a collection of titles and presented information in regards to its intellectual properties for the future.
On Thursday, the company held a press conference focused on Ni No Kuni: The Another World, a collaboration between Level-5 and famed animation company Studio Ghibli. Prior to the event, it was known that the company was releasing a game for DS, but company CEO Akihiro Hino announced recently that the title would be appearing on a second console: the Playstation 3.
The DS version will bear the subtitle Shikkoku no Madoushi (referring to a Dark Mage), and the PS3 version bears the subtitle Shiroki Seihai no Joou (referring to a White Princess). It was also made known that both versions are completely different games, just starring the same main characters.
The DS version is a turn-based RPG in which players can move the characters along the bottom screen for different battle formations. The game's spells are made by drawing images on the touch-screen. Perhaps the biggest innovation, Ghibli aside, is the usage of the Magic Master Book, a 300+ page book that comes with the title! The book describes the spells to cast, as well as tips on specific actions to make in the game, including how to properly speak with certain people around the world.
The PS3 version is more of a real-time RPG, in that players command their helpful monsters to attack while moving around the battlefield. There is a passing rumor that Playstation Move will be needed for the spell-casting, and the game will come with its own Magic Master book, as well.

The animation looks awesome! Why would they want to screw it up by making you use Move with it?
