Tron: Evolution and new Turok developer Propaganda Games has been shuttered by publisher Disney, in the face of its changing structure toward social gaming.
IGN received an official statement from Disney representatives emphasizing that all work from the company had been completed as of the developer's final days, so no project had been canceled by the closure. Some seventy employees are effected in the closure.
Propaganda Games was formed by ex-EA Canada employees in 2005, notably Josh Holmes and Daryl Anselmo, creators of NBA Street, and Jorge Freitas, who helped create Def Jam Vendetta. The company developed the newest rendition of Turok which released in 2008 for PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. The company recently released the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation tie-in game for Disney's newest action flick, Tron: Legacy. The studio's death had been brought up as the developer's biggest project, Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, was canceled this past October. The official statement from Disney proves these predictions correct.
We wish the best for those affected.
