A.R.E.S. Coming to X.B.L.A. (and P.C. and W.P.7.)

ORiGO GAMES has announced that it will be bringing the first episode of Extend Studios' A.R.E.S. series for Xbox Live Arcade and PC (and Windows Phone 7) when it is ready for release. Not only is this great news for Extend, whose game was originally being made for Xbox Live Indie Games, but also for ORiGO, which is now entering the publishing business in the video game world.

ORiGO GAMES is proud to announce that we are becoming a publishing house.

We have taken things even one step further, and are announcing our Partnership with Extend Studio. Extend Studio (X10 Studio) is a Thai based indie developer founded by Nenin Ananbanchachai and friends. They have been hard at work for the past 18 months to bring you A.R.E.S. Episode 1: Extinction Agenda for PC, XBLA, and Windows Phone 7.

ORiGO will be acting as co-publisher for episode 1, and we have plans on continuing the series with X10.

A.R.E.S. is a side-scrolling action title in which players assume the role of A.R.E.S., a robot built by humans to save humanity. The world is heavily polluted, so a space station has been collecting pollution and turning it into useful energy. However, after an odd crystal collides with the station, the robots and machinery begin to act against orders. Now, in order to prevent this from becoming disastrous to the future of humanity, ARES must go in and figure out how to stop the machines and return the station to its original state.

A.R.E.S. was the 1st place winner (not Grand Prize) at this year's DreamBuildPlay contest for Xbox Live Indie Games. Its Grand Prize winner this year, Lumi, saw its release today for Indie Games. Expect a review or some equivalent when 3RM's site actually arrives.

No release date has been given, but late 2010 or early 2011 is a good estimate.
