Remember Alpha Protocol? It was an RPG shooter of sorts developed by Obsidian and published by Sega. Still nothing? It came out last month. No? Well, apparently you won't be not remembering a sequel, either.
Sega has apparently chosen not to look into a sequel, as the game was both critically and commercially mediocre. The game failed to make sales expectations, and the game has seen less-than-average reviews since its debut.
ComputerandVideoGames received word from Sega West president Mike Hayes in regards to the series.
"Let's speak very commercially; the game hasn't sold what we've expected, therefore we won't be doing a sequel," said Hayes.
He went on to state that the game, despite its poor reception, was a good concept. The reason for the lack of a sequel is that RPGs take a long time to make, and apparently the first game failed to be kept in the oven long enough to succeed.
Obsidian's next title is Fallout: New Vegas for Bethesda, out later this year.
