Indie Game Bastion to be shown at PAX

GameBomb has spread the word regarding one of this year's PAX 10 games: A unique action-adventure title called Bastion, developed by new developer Supergiant Games.

Bastion is an action-adventure title which takes place in a world that has been completely torn apart. Players take the role of a sole adventurer whose goal is to bring the world back together, better than ever. Unfortunately, there are monsters and other evil forces which would rather leave the world in chaos, and you will have to defeat them in order to help restore harmony. Thankfully, as the trailer suggests, you are not alone.

The world, being torn apart, does not appear all at once, but rather, it appears in segments that surround the player-character, making the world that much more complicated to navigate. Item collection appears to be a major point to progress, and over time, whole kingdoms and world will be recollected back together, thanks to your efforts.

Bastion will be playable at PAX Prime this week, and it is expected to be released 2011 for PC and consoles.

Supergiant Games is a new independent developer created by Amir Rao and Gavin Simon who left Electronic Arts Los Angeles in order to create their own development company. The team also consists of Darren Korb and Jen Zee among other friends the team knows. This is the company's first title.
