Bangai-O Banging-Onto XBLA!

Treasure, the development company behind Sin & Punishment, Ikaruga, and Gunstar Heroes has announced that it is bringing a new title to Xbox Live Arcade this November: the next game in the Bangai-O series!

Bangai-O HD: Missle Fury is an action arcade shooter in which players control Bangai-O, an extremely powerful robot mech through a myriad of short but heavily-destructive scenarios. The game has a puzzle element involved, what with time limits and several obstacles and enemies in the way. Looking at the screenshots of the DS prequel will give you an idea of HOW hectic the series is.

The Bangai-O series began on Dreamcast and then ventured onto DS with Bangai-O: Spirits. Like the sequel, Missle Fury will allow for levels to be created and shared, though levels will be shared online as opposed to via sound files. Without the level editor, the game still contains over 100 levels provided by Treasure itself.

The game is expected for a release in November at a price of 800 MS Points. It will be playable at PAX Prime this up-coming weekend.
